Personalized Nutritional
Consultant Ann Marie Stanczyk,
M.S., M.T. recently joined
the Union Towns Chamber
of Commerce and celebrated
with a ribbon cutting. Friends,
business representatives,
members of the community,
and chamber staff enjoyed
meeting with Ms. Stanczyk.
Stanczyk gave an interesting
presentation. She asked
for volunteers to "eat an
orange." During the demonstration,
Stanczyk explained various
tips for good nutrition. "After
you eat the inside, try
a little of the white part.
That's where the most antioxidants
and flavonoids are located." She
went on to show how squeezing
the outer orange-peel releases
essential oils. Guests were
fascinated and everyone
learned new things about
good nutrition.
According to Stanczyk, "Nutrition
is a cornerstone of good
health and most likely a
very important missing link
in today's healthcare system." Stanczyk
received her BA degree in
Biology from the University
of Bridgeport in Connecticut
and a MT degree from Bridgeport
Hospital School of Medical
Technology. She received
her Masters degree in Holistic
Nutrition from Clayton College
of Natural Health in Birmingham,
Alabama and a Certification
in Culinary Arts and National
Certification in ServSafe
and Nutrition from North
Georgia Technical College
in Blairsville, Georgia.
Stanczyk has a wide range
of experience and understanding
in Bacteriology, Blood Bank,
Chemistry, Hematology, and
Serology due to almost two
decades of employment in
a hospital laboratory setting.
Stanczyk has also taught
numerous classes in Organic
Gardening, Wild Food Gathering,
Healthy Cooking, and Nutrition
at Young Harris College
as part of the Institute
for Continued Learning program.
