November 3, 2008 - Antony Skipper represents Union County at EAGLE
Antony Skipper, better known to friends and family as "Skip," recently participated in the North Georgia Technical College Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) competition as the Union County Representative. Skip was nominated by the Lifelong Learning Center 's Adult Education Instructor Kathy Rich. She says, "Skip is extremely determined and dedicated. He deserved the recognition."
The EAGLE Competition is designed to create greater awareness of educational opportunities that are available in local communities and to foster greater involvement in lifelong learning. The Leadership Institute recognizes those students who have demonstrated superior achievement in adult education programs. It is the only recognition program of its type in the United States .
Each adult education department under the Technical College System of Georgia sponsors one delegate to represent the college at the state EAGLE Leadership Institute. The delegates are selected on the basis of the participant's ability to answer predetermined questions asked by a panel of judges. Congratulations to Antony "Skip" Skipper for receiving a County Winner Certificate.
