Union
County Environmental Health
has a new manager. George
W. "Bill" Ringle
says, "Environmental Specialists
Pat Cook and Danny Bohler
kept things going from
September until I arrived
in December. It was an
easy transition. Michael
Plott left everything
in good running order.
He spent 32 years developing
this program and it was
easy for me to step in
and begin work."
Ringle grew up in Augusta
, received his Bachelor
of Environmental Health
Science from the University
of Georgia in 1993, and
moved to Fredericksburg
, Virginia to begin his
career as an Environmental
Health Specialist. Ringle's
primary responsibility in
Virginia was restaurant
and hotel inspection.
Ringle explains, "I eventually
developed an interest in
on-site sewage management
which has been the focus
of my career ever since.
I moved back to Georgia
in 2001 to take a position
as lead Environmental Health
Specialist in Franklin County
. There my primary responsibility
was the sewage disposal
program which prepared me
for the manager position
in Union County ."
He adds, "I moved here
December 1, 2006 and knew
right away that it would
be a good place to live."
