Liam
Keener Jones is the first
baby born at Union General
Hospital in 2007. His proud
parents are Chad and Emilie
Jones of Culberson, NC .
Little Liam has one sister,
20 month old Gates Jones.
Lilam weighs 7 lb. and
3 oz. and is 20.5 inches
long. Liam came close to
being born in the elevator,
but mom was able to make
it to the delivery room
where she gave birth eight
minutes later at 11:12 a.m.
on January 1, 2007 . Dr.
Davis presided over the
delivery but allowed Emilie's
mom, Carol Gates, to catch
the baby as it arrived in
the world. Liam's Dad,
Chad Jones, cut the umbilical
cord.
Liam's Dad says, "I thought
the baby was going to be
born in the car, but we
made it to the hospital.
Dr. Davis happened to be
in the elevator when we
got on."

Liam's
mother adds, "Having
Liam was easy, I'm not a
bit tired." The staff of
Union County Hospital presented
the first baby of the New
Year with a $100 gift basket
from Babies 'R Us. Congratulations
to the family on the
birth of a healthy baby
boy.
