August 11, 2010 - Flower Garden supports the Green Bean Festival in Downtown Blairsville
The Green Bean Festival brought lots of visitors to Downtown Blairsville and many of them were drawn to the Flower Garden. With shiny green bean balloons and a giant green bean stalk, it was hard to miss the place.
One shopper said, "We had to stop and get photos in front of the Green Bean Arbor, then went on inside to see what was happening. The shop was giving away door prizes and selling festival souvenirs."
In the spirit of the Green Bean Festival, owner Brenda Adams decorated the Flower Garden with baskets of produce, flowers, and attractive greenery. She had the largest green beans in town even if they weren't to eat!
Door prizes included a gift certificate from Antonietta's Italian Grill and a beautiful basket of fresh produce purchased from local farmers. Cornfield beans and okra from John Fortenberry, tomatoes from Mike Chambers, Providence corn from Lee Knight, organic blueberries from Enota Mountain Retreat, cinnamon rolls from Logan Turnpike Mill, blackberry jam from Donna Bollinger, and privet honey from Bob Spencer went home to someone's kitchen pantry! Door prizes offered a treat for the eyes, as well as for the taste buds.
Brenda says, "We heard endless positive comments from people coming and going to the festival. There were lots of nice people from all over and everyone loved it. Several folks tried to purchase our green bean decorations and hopefully we will have more on hand next time."Brenda Adams is actively involved in the Blairsvillel community. She runs the Flower Garden, is a nurse at Appalachian Home Health, and is a Downtown Development Authority of Blairsville board member where she serves as secretary.
The Flower Garden is available for weddings and other special events. They also offer pottery, glass, photography, jewelry, and paintings created by local artists. The Flower Garden is located at 44-A Blue Ridge Street in Blairsville, Georgia.
