It is with great pride and joy that we announce the appointment of Joyce Gandy, Human Resource Director at Brasstown Valley and Resort, to the Georgia Employer Committee Executive Board
The Georgia Employer Committee Executive Board represents Georgia Employers throughout the state and is comprised of Georgia Employer Committee members who have devoted numerous hours of their time and talents in representing the business concerns and workforce issues in their local communities. Joyce Gandy was appointed to the Executive Board to serve in the years 2007 and 2008
No-one deserves this distinction more than Joyce. Under her leadership the Blairsville Union Towns local employer committee has grown in numbers and has become one of the strongest local employer committees in the state. They have promoted and supported various Labor Law seminars and meetings that have been instrumental in informing local business leaders about the latest workforce issues, updates on labor law legislation as well as local educational opportunities. They have also funded and supported many local charitable community service events.
Out of over 1,300 Georgia Employer Committee members around the state, only a total of 16 members were appointed to serve on the 2007-2008 Georgia Employer Committee Executive Board. The Georgia Employer Committee Executive Board is one of only a few lift in the nation. They are the only Employer Committee Executive Board that travels to Washington every year and meets with our Georgia Congressional representatives to discuss Workforce issues that affect all Georgia Employers.
Joyce's commitment, hard work, and pleasant personality were all factors in choosing Joyce for this position. Congratulations to Joyce for her accomplishments and this most deserving accolade. Congratulations Joyce, from the people in Union County and Towns County.
