December 5, 2008 - The Blairsville Downtown Grill is now serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Home of fresh foods and local flavor, the Downtown Grill offers steaks, seafood, burgers, Po-boys, a “mega” salad bar, and more.

The menu includes everything from country breakfasts to appetizers and a variety of sandwiches. BLTs, fresh chicken salad, traditional Philly Cheese Steaks, and Po-boys round out the lunch menu. Owner Shanna Beavers explains, “A Po-boy is different from a submarine sandwich. A favorite in New Orleans, Po-boys are made with French bread that is crispy on the outside and airy on the inside.”

The Blairsville Downtown Grill has an exciting dinner menu. Rib-eyes, sirloins, Lemon Pepper Salmon, Pecan Crusted Trout, Chicken Alfredo, and Burgundy Beef are a few of the choices. There is also the mega salad bar that includes fresh veggies and all the trimmings, a baked potato bar, a chili bar, and soup of the day.

“Old Blairsville Restaurant” favorites such as southern fried chicken, homemade meatloaf, and chicken and dumplings are also available. The Downtown Grill is very child friendly. Children ten and under eat free on Thursday nights.

The Downtown Grill offers healthy choices which are marked on the menu with a green HC designation. This means a menu item is considered to be nutrient rich and low in bad fats.

With a background in nutrition and eleven years in the restaurant industry, Shanna Beavers is well acquainted with every aspect of the business. As part of a management training team, she has helped facilitate the opening of six other restaurants. She says, “I am so excited to have my own restaurant!”

Shanna is available for catering events and catering at the restaurant. (Downtown Grill can seat up to 260 people.) Shanna says, “I am used to handling crowds. I used to cater dinner for 2000 teenagers at a church retreat in Atlanta.”

Shanna lives with husband Randy Beavers in Towns County. Randy is a 1994 graduate of UCHS. Shanna adds, “I want to say thank-you to my husband and my loyal staff for believing in me. I also want to thank the community for all their support and encouragement.” The Blairsville Downtown Grill is located at 229 Earnest Street .
