December 4, 2008 - C.R.A.F.T. Appalachia features products that are made in Georgia or grown in Georgia. The new store offers affordable luxuries such as quality home décor, gourmet foods, jewelry, and other gift items.

Owner Janice Taylor says, “This is the first store of its kind in north Georgia. We have great gifts at reasonable prices just in time for the holidays.”

C.R.A.F.T. Appalachia carries Appalachian Kitchens Jams, Luna Bug Soaps, Donna Cates oil paintings, Bee Natural Candles, Bon Bon Truffles, Logan Turnpike Mill stone-ground products, Peggy Renfro Weaving products, Marilyn Jobe and Jack McDougald Jewelry, Mountain Sourwood Honey, Mama Craves Pickles, Windscent Candles, Robert Baucher’s Black Mountain Furniture, Loretta Cannon and Susan Annesi Baskets, and Anne Bray Pottery. C.R.A.F.T. Appalachia also offers custom and ready made gift baskets filled with Georgia gourmet food items.

Craftsmen and artists are invited to submit their Georgia products and artwork. All Georgia crafters, artists, farmers, and tradesmen that produce Georgia grown or Georgia made products should contact the store to receive information on having their products included in the retail outlet. While you are there don’t forget to sample the great products such as Blackberries & Pinot Noir Wine Jam!

C.R.A.F.T. in Appalachia stands for Crafters, Regional Artisans, and Fine Tradesman in Appalachia.  The store follows the Governor’s vision to promote “GEORGIA MADE, GEORGIA GROWN”, along with the Department of Agriculture, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, and numerous other state and local organizations that are starting to realize the value of promoting Georgia tourism as a sustainable industry.

For the past few years many symposiums and conferences have been held all across the state of Georgia to determine what crafters, farmers, and artisans need to promote their businesses.  Retail outlets are vital as the last step before the end-user customer has an opportunity to experience the “talents of Georgia hands”.
